Video Production

We understand that video production can be daunting. That's why The Projection Room keeps things simple. After all making videos is what we do every day....and have done for many years.
No project is too big, or too small. The only constraint may be budget, because our imagination certainly knows no bounds!

The first thing we aim to do, is to understand exactly what you want your video to deliver and who the target audience is. We then start working closely with you to understand your business.....so we can deliver the best possible audio and visual for your budget. We also look at whether we can give you more than one video from a single shoot. For example you may want a longer version for an event or the AGM, but a shorter version for a website, YouTube or social media. You may also want to use specific rushes from an earlier shoot in another video to be made later in the year. It's all about planning and thinking ahead.

PRE-PRODUCTION

We work closely with you to plan the project, identify key messages and target audiences. We determine where and how you'll be using the video. We then write a script or adapt anything you've already prepared. We find suitable filming locations, do recces, check lighting conditions, draw up storyboards, shot lists and filming schedules. We don't leave anything to chance, not even the weather! Once you've signed off the script and filming schedule we're ready for action!

If you want to do the voice over yourself or present your own video, we can help you with this. If not we have access to a wide range of presenters, actors and voice over artists...including a few celebrities (if your budget stretches to it!)
We will organise all of this and make sure everyone is in the right place, at the right time and knows exactly what's happening.

PRODUCTION

The Projection Room's team will really listen to what you want and then work with you to create something wonderful, informative and entertaining.

We're all highly creative, broadcast experts, who are used to producing high quality video, quickly to tight deadlines. We think on our feet and can adapt to situations at short notice...sometimes incorporating unexpected things when out filmling (see the end of our Universal Multigrip video for what was the fantastic result of a conversation with one of the locals at the end of the shoot in Italy! This extra bit of filming was a bonus and too good an opportunity to miss! We persuaded the client to use it at the end of the heavily scripted video and also as a stand-alone piece on YouTube).

While we try to stick to filming schedules in a bid to keep your costs down, we always have a back-up plan and can usually adapt to changing situations at short notice, without any fuss or trauma!

Depending on the project needs and your budget, our team only contains as many people as we need. Most of us are multi-skilled because of our broadcast background.....skills we've been trained to do at high level and not self-taught.

If your project needs more than one camera, then we can provide as many cameras and operators as required. Occasionally, where necessary and if your budget allows it, we will also use sound recording engineers.
We work with some of the region's best editors, animators and graphic artists and will bring in the best person for the job.
The Projection Room can also source studios and music for your production. We've recently translated and subtitled some our videos from Swahili and Spanish into English.

Our team also includes professional photographers who can turn their hand to anything from individual product photography, to architechtural, landscape and panoramic imaging.

POST-PRODUCTION

We have a team of editors, all with different skill-sets to match your project and budget.
Most of our editing is done using Avid. We can add titles, effects compositing and animation to your project. Music can be Royality-free from our vast library or specially-written for your production. Our team of editors and technicians can encode, transcode and author your video into a number of different formats for any platform. We can also add sound effects if necessary and put the whole video through sound post-production to smooth things off for an end result that complies with broadcasting standards.

Before we do any of that we ask you to view the final edit (before it's finalised) so that any changes or additions can be made. Once you sign off the edit, we then complete it and deliver it in a mov file format (or any other you request). We'll even help you upload it to the internet or your website if necessary.
