Media Training

The Projection Room's media training is carried out by journalist Lesley McNish, who's career in print, television and radio spans over two decades. She has written for newspapers, magazines, websites...presented, reported and produced for both ITV and BBC...and also spent several years writing, directing, producing and media training corporate clients.

Most of our media training clients come via recommendations or referrals...and many have come to us for training more than once...so that speaks volumes. We tailor-make our training package to suit your needs and can adapt it for other uses.

For example if you have a group of directors and managers who just want some general media training as way of introduction we can take a group of up to seven through a full-day session including theory and different types of media interview (including as-live and live to television and radio).

If your Chief Executive or a group of directors are about to face a media campaign launch or a crisis then they may need some specific training.
We're also happy to give one-to-one training. Maybe an individual who's expected to speak to the media regularly, needs a little help with confidence-building and practice doing interviews in front of camera or in studio.

The Projection Room can also work with you as a media consultant to help plan/make a potentially controversial media launch or announcement. We can help you structure your media announcement, including your choice of key messages and language/phrases to use during interviews. We can even write your press release and help get your story noticed!

In some cases clients have used us on all of the above on one subject. We've worked with them right through from consultancy stage, using the information gathered from that to media train the directors who'd be dealing with the press.

We're used to dealing with potentially controversial subject matter as part of our media training and media crisis management . We guarantee complete confidentiality as we work to help our clients face the media and place their stories out in the public domain.

Our clients include Nexus, Marine Management Organisation, NHS, Crown Prosecution Service, Shared Interest, and Gateshead College.
